Better public transport on a tight budget? It can be done – with a real change of system! 🚍💡

The latest timetable change shows that when money is tight, the district is shelving all improvements for now.

Our view: savings are necessary – but please, with a plan! Instead of managing scarcity, we propose genuinely reallocating capacity.

🔄 The concept: flexible, not rigid
We need to stop thinking in fixed routes where they make no sense.
Nobody needs huge regional buses driving thin air through our small villages all day.
Our solution:
Villagers are picked up by the MultiBus on demand and taken to the nearest express bus stop (and back). The MultiBus acts as a flexible feeder to a strong main network.

🚌 What happens to the regional bus routes?
The fixed, often empty scheduled services can largely be dropped.
The exception: school transport. Dedicated trips at school times – especially for our primary school children – will of course remain. But beyond that? We need smart solutions instead of rigid timetables.

💰 A win-win for the budget
Municipal coffers are empty. That’s exactly why our model matters:

  1. A strong backbone: we invest in expanding town and express bus routes (longer operating hours, more frequent services) as a reliable backbone.
  2. Genuine on-demand ridepooling: the MultiBus is upgraded from a stopgap to a modern on-demand service with more capacity.
  3. Efficiency: by cutting the inefficient empty runs of regional buses, we save massively on operating costs.

The result: public transport gets better for passengers (faster, more flexible) and cheaper for the municipality, because fewer unnecessary kilometres are driven overall.

Mobility doesn’t have to cost more – it just has to be organised more cleverly. 🧠✨
